Two Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center employees are being honored by Trinity Health Foundation of East Tennessee’s Silver Lamp Award. Director of Clinical Services at PNRC Jennifer Steely and enterostomal therapist, Teresa Arms received the 2019 distinction as a symbol of the excellent care healthcare professionals bring to their patients every day.
Each recipient receives a supplement to help fund continued education in their healthcare specialty. For Steely, the award will be used for an educational conference specific to the current environment and changing dynamics in inpatient rehabilitation.
Arms will use the award to obtain books, course information and certification testing to become a Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) from the Wound, Ostomy and Continence (WOCN) Certification Board. Her goal in earning this certification is to be able to provide better patient care and ensure the nursing staff at PNRC is fully equipped with the necessary knowledge to assist in reducing pressure injuries.
Congratulations to our two very deserving winners for this honor!
The Silver Lamp Award was created in 2006 to honor the “Lady with the Lamp” Florence Nightingale. Today, Trinity Health Foundation of East Tennessee sponsors the award, which goes toward educating healthcare professionals in a variety of ways. Honorees are chosen by their respective hospital for providing excellent patient care.
