Robert Brown was one of five Covenant Health employees who recently received a 2019 Cardiac Services Excellence Award in recognition of the exemplary care of heart patients, outstanding performance in cardiac services, and demonstrating Covenant Health’s Standards and Behaviors and Pledge of Excellence.
The awards were presented at a recent Cardiac Services Council meeting by Neal Heatherly, president and chief administrative officer of Parkwest Medical Center and administrative leader for the cardiac service line. The meeting was attended by Covenant Health executives, facility administrators and cardiac service line leaders, and cardiac physicians.
The 2019 honorees are:
Robert Brown – coordinator of invasive cardiovascular services, cardiac cath lab, Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center
Laurel Gustavsen – registered cardiovascular sonographer, cardiopulmonary services, Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System
Jay Jordan – supervisor of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, LeConte Medical Center
Symira McKenzie – registered cardiovascular invasive specialist, cardiac cath lab, Parkwest Medical Center
Kevin Montooth – exercise physiologist, cardiac rehabilitation, Methodist Medical Center
The honorees were nominated by their facilities and selected by a committee representing cardiac services throughout the health system. Each honoree receives a certificate and a monetary award to be used for clinical continuing education.
“Robert always put his patients first and is a major asset to our team in the cath lab. This recognition of excellence is very well deserved,” said Barry Hicks, cath lab and cardio diagnostic manager.
