Our pharmacy staff offers expert advice to our staff and patients to ensure that the best and most appropriate treatment is being delivered. While these unsung healthcare heroes often work behind the scenes, we are thankful for their skill and knowledge that allow us to continually be the first and best choice for our patients.

Get to know our inpatient pharmacy supervisor Beth Field below.

Where are you from?

I was born in Santa Barbara, but in grew up in the Twin Cities. I moved to Knoxville about five years ago.

How long have you worked at Fort Sanders Regional?

Five years, I moved to Knoxville specifically for the pharmacy residency program.

Tell us a little bit about your job at Fort Sanders Regional?

As the inpatient pharmacy supervisor, I ensure that medications are sent to the floor in a timely and appropriate manner. I am also responsible for making sure we have the correct drugs in stock at the hospital. I work with other pharmacists to help them meet their needs on the floor.

What do you love most about your job?

I am also the program director of the pharmacy residency program, and I love the enthusiasm and excitement new people bring to the profession. I try to harness that enthusiasm to make changes and continue to grow our department.

What made you want to pursue a career as a pharmacist?

My mother and father both work in healthcare, so I knew I wanted to care for people and use my love of science and math. I started working in retail pharmacy and had the opportunity to meet patients and have one on one interactions which I really enjoyed.

What is your favorite movie?

Anything Disney, I’m a kid at heart.

If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Anything with a noodle
