This week we are celebrating Healthcare Human Resources Week which can’t be done without recognizing our very own Angie Montgomery, HR operations specialist. Our HR team play an important role in the continuum of care by onboarding staff and helping to provide a safe and satisfying place to work for our employees, among many other things.

Angie always goes the extra mile to help hospital leadership and employees with their concerns and is our subject matter expert on issues ranging from benefits to company policy. We are thankful to have Angie on our team! Read more about her below.

I’m originally from East Tennessee. I went to college at MTSU and did my Masters at Tusculum.

How long have you worked at Fort Sanders Regional?

I have been at Fort Sanders Regional for four years, but I will have worked for Covenant Health for 28 years in September.

Tell us a little bit about your job at Fort Sanders Regional?

I work closely with our managers and try to be a resource for our employee group. The majority of what I do is centered on employee relations.

What do you love most about your job?

I love working with the people here and the environment at Regional. It’s nice to be able to help people when they need direction.

What made you want to pursue a career in HR/Healthcare?

It just kind of happened. I started as a counselor for an outdoor program at Peninsula and then transitioned to different roles, one of which had a HR function. I really liked it and I was encouraged to apply for an HR Director’s role. I later went back to school and got my Masters in HR.
