Congratulations to our latest FLAME Award winners—our entire Fort Sanders Regional security team! In two separate instances, members of our security team stepped up to go beyond their duties. In the first instance, members of the security team including Sergeant Jeff Hepler, Officer Jamie South, Officer Josh Mayes and K9 Officer James Burkett responded to a fire in one of our building’s parking garages. After ensuring everyone in the vicinity was safe, the officers worked to contain the flames until the Knoxville Fire Department arrived to fully extinguish the fire. Thank you to the entire security team for going beyond your job duties to protect patients, visitors and staff!
In the second instance, two members of the security team, Officers Rayne Hillman and Clayton Owens, were recognized for their professionalism after assisting a patient’s family member who was upset. Both officers came back to check on the patient and family member the next day, and Officer Owens let them know that he had prayed for them the night before. Thank you Officers Hillman and Owens for going the extra mile for this patient’s wife and for all of the incredible work you and the entire security team do every day!
The FLAME Award was created by FSRMC’s Patient Family Partnership Council in 2018 to recognize our non-nurse employees who have gone above and beyond to improve the hospital experience for our patients and their family members. To nominate an extraordinary staff member, click here.
