In our next Faces of the Fort employee feature, we get to know a hardworking and passionate nurse in our women’s services department.

Where are you from?

I live in Rutledge, Tennessee—a small city in Grainger County.

How long have you worked at Fort Sanders Regional?

 I’ve worked at Fort Sanders Regional since 2010. I worked as an SNA while in nursing school, then started my nursing career in women’s services here.

 Tell us a little bit about your job at Fort Sanders Regional.

I’m an RN in labor and delivery. With our high-risk population, my duties range from taking care of sick pregnant patients to managing expecting mothers in labor. There’s nothing more fulfilling than helping welcome a baby into the world!

Why did you decide to go into your specialty?

I’ve always had a passion for helping people, and nursing seemed like a career where I could apply that. I didn’t really know what specialty I wanted to work in when I first started, but I’m so glad I accepted a position in women’s services. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

What do you enjoy most about working at Fort Sanders Regional?

I love working with my amazing team of clinical staff and physicians to provide the best outcomes for our mothers and babies.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I love spending time with my family, being outdoors and singing.

What is your favorite food?

I love any type of seafood.

Who is your favorite musician?

 My favorite musician is Chris Stapleton.
