Faces of the Fort: Chelsea Nicley

Our employees make us who we are and fuel our commitment and passion to providing the best healthcare to this community. In this feature, we meet Chelsea Nicley, a shift leader for women’s services.

Where are you from?

I grew up in Maynardville, which is about 30 minutes north of Knoxville.

How long have you worked at Fort Sanders Regional?

My five year anniversary of working at Fort Sanders Regional is coming up in June this year.

Tell us a little bit about your job at Fort Sanders Regional.

I am the shift leader on nights for women’s services at Fort Sanders Regional. I care for postpartum mothers and infants as well as gynecological surgery patients.

Why did you decide to go into your specialty?

I always knew I wanted to work in women’s services! I love the teaching aspect of my job. Education is so important in this field. It is a blessing to be able to be there for the most joyous, but sometimes the most heartbreaking, moments in our patients’ lives.

What do you enjoy most about working at Fort Sanders Regional?

I love the teamwork we have here at Fort Sanders Regional, especially within my unit. Everyone works together each and every day to provide excellent patient care.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy spending my free time with my soon-to-be husband and our families and friends. We are currently building a new home! We have two kitties, Molly and Mia, who love our attention when we are home.

What is your favorite food?

I love Mexican food!

What is your favorite TV show?

I am a huge Grey’s Anatomy fan, along with The Handmaid’s Tale and Good Girls!
