September 8 marked the kick off of FSRMC’s United Way campaign. Last year, FSRMC raised $21,691 to help alleviate some of Knoxville’s most serious problems, part of a larger effort by Covenant Health. With events held throughout the campaign, employees give one time donations or opt to directly donate from their paycheck. One of the most popular events, Taste of Regional, invites employees to bring one of their most loved dishes to share with employees for the cost of a small donation. Other popular events include an ice cream social and a create-your-own potato bar with all funds being donated to the United Way. In addition, the gift shop has asked shoppers to ”Round Up for Change” by giving their extra change to the cause.
Many people, from children to the elderly, count on dollars contributed to United Way each year. Here in Knoxville, United Way is focused on critical issues like education, health, financial stability and basic needs. In Knox County, the 15% administrative expense is underwritten by a group of generous anonymous donors so that 100% of your donations go to the programs. The involvement from the employees here at Fort Sanders Regional highlight our employee’s commitment to giving back to the community.
