Fort Sanders has announced the 2020 recipients of the hospital’s annual Clinical Excellence Awards. Thirty-three members of the hospital’s clinical staff were recognized as outstanding caregivers with awards signifying the exceptional care and compassion the recipients give regularly to their patients in areas throughout the hospital. For clinical excellence honorees, the awards are especially meaningful because the employees are nominated by their co-workers who provide care alongside them. The final winners are then selected by a panel of hospital leaders that includes past honorees. This year’s Clinical Excellence Awards winners are named below.
Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center Nurses Receive Regional Recognition
The Knoxville chapter of American Organization for Nursing Leadership has recognized three Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center nurses with 2020 East Tennessee Nursing Clinical Excellence Awards. Isaac Blair, RN (Post-Surgical unit); Kayla Hinkle, RN (CVICU); and Shelby Moon, RN, (Nephrology) were nominated by Fort Sanders Regional leadership for the award, which is open to registered nurses in East Tennessee. Criteria for selection include outstanding delivery of patient care, participation in activities to improve patient satisfaction, teamwork and personal growth in the nurse’s professional practice.
“We are very proud of Isaac, Kayla and Shelby — each of you demonstrates professionalism and compassion in everything you do. To be recognized first by your leaders, and then by a council of regional nursing executives is a well-deserved accomplishment,” said Lynda Watts, Fort Sanders Regional chief nursing officer.
