Hematology
Hematology is the study of blood, blood-forming organs, and blood diseases. Hematologists, physicians who have studied hematology, assist with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of blood-related diseases. Diseases of the blood can affect production of blood, including blood cells, proteins, and coagulation. Hematologists can specialize in a variety of areas, including:
- Hemophilia
- Lymphoma/Leukemia
- Hemoglobinopathies
